Tallahassee Community College CFP® Certification Professional Education Program Online
Many working professionals are interested in using an online format for education
to enhance their career by completing the curriculum for the CFP Board-Registered
Programs. We believe that not everyone fits the mold for an online structure. As
traditional classes will always exist, we are limited in reaching all locations.
The market for students using the online model is rapidly growing. We have outlined
some of the qualities that we believe are important for a successful experience.
- You are not easily distracted.
- You are able to accept the visional barriers of the online environment.
- You are self-motivated, self-disciplined, and independent.
- You feel at ease with communicating by writing. Many non-verbal communication emotions
are non-viewable to an online instructor, especially confusion. You must be able
to articulate your question paralleling the course content.
- Your computer skills are considered at least average to navigate as instructed.
- You are responsible and accountable as the online program is a time commitment,
and discipline is a necessary, critical component. The purpose of the online delivery
method should be for the convenience, not for an easier way to education.
- You are responsible for obtaining the necessary equipment for online structure meeting
the computer program requirements.
- You are not a procrastinator, and are willing to make time for self-scheduled sessions.
- If you find yourself getting behind in class work, you must realize it is almost
impossible to catch up. You will need to contact us, to advise you of your options.
